The 8th Annual Independence Job Fair was a huge success. We had over 25 Employers, 3 Military Branches and 325 job seekers attend this year’s Independence Job Fair. Judge Brieden was the Master of Ceremony and representatives from our local American Legion Presented the Colors. This year, employees from the Brazos Valley Council of Government held a fundraiser to benefit the Wounded Warrior Program.  The check presentation was held during the opening ceremony of the job fair. Mr. Wilkinson, Executive Director presented a check in the amount $1,208.44 to Judge Brieden.  This was a very popular event for both employers and job seekers. Job Fair preparation classes were held before the event to assist job seekers with their resumes.  Job Seekers were able to talk with each employer directly about their employment opportunities and the knowledge and skills required for each position. Onsite Computer Labs were available for the job seekers to apply online for the positions that required online applications. We would like to thank everyone who made this event  possible especially our co-sponsor Penncro Associates.
