Project RIO
Project RIO is a program targeted to the reintegration of offenders into the labor force. Participants eligible for Project RIO are those who are currently on parole in the State of Texas, those who served their entire sentence in prison and are within one year of their release date, those who were formerly confined in State jail facilities, and juveniles ages 16-21 who were formerly confined in Texas Youth Commission facilities.
Project RIO services include:
- Job skills assessment;
- Assessment of other services needed;
- Development of an individual employment plan;
- Matching of RIO job seekers' skills to job postings;
- Counseling;
- Training on interviewing skills;
- Practice interviews;
- Federal Fidelity Bonding coverage information;
- Assistance with applications and resumes and;
- Guidance and motivation
